The Brinkmann corporation, based in Dallas, Texas is currently looking for an ELECTRICAL ENGINEER/LED PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER who will work within cross-functional groups consisting of marketing, sales, engineering, and manufacturing to design, develop, qualify and introduce products into the market.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead product design from concept through production, including component selection, simulation, prototyping, testing, agency certification (ETL, CSA, UL), production integration and technical troubleshooting
- Work directly with China manufacturing facilities in design, engineering and production, and interface with component suppliers to evaluate components and vendor strategy
- Identify, initiate and implement solutions for process/product development that improve performance, reduce cost, strengthen yields and increase capability
- Provide training to other personnel to improve overall capabilities and knowledge
- Work across company functional organizations to ensure project success
Skills Experience Required:
Engineering degree required/BSEE, preferred with 5+ years experience in:
- Specification of power and fractional watt LED devices
- LED drive circuit design and specifications for both AC & DC power supplies
- LED thermal management and optical design using lenses and reflectors
- Disposable and rechargeable battery technology
- Development of Energy Star approved power supplies
- 1kVA and smaller transformer design and application
- Switched mode power supply topologies, design and testing
- Wireless technology, pulse width modulation communications and microprocessor controls, a plus.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Must be a self-starter, able to work with little supervision as an individual contributor, while managing multiple projects
- Possess a strong personal work ethic with a “whatever it takes” attitude
